Here he shares the story of his career so far, in his own words.
My role as an Infrastructure Technician involves operating in a variety of datacentres to help connect clients. I’m responsible for hardware maintenance which includes installation of switches, servers and other networking equipment. If an issue does occur I then have to do some troubleshooting to diagnose and the resolve the issue. As my role involves a lot of cabling I have to ensure that my cable management standards are at a high standard.
My job helps my fellow workers within Vorboss as well as external clients who rely on our services to provide a stable internet connection for their company.
Problem solving - Each problem you solve enhances your skills and gives you a sense of accomplishment.
Hands-on work - The variety of tasks keeps the work interesting and keeps me physically active.
Team Collaboration - Sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues can lead to personal growth and a supportive work atmosphere.
I heard about this job via Indeed. I joined as an apprentice then upon completion got a full-time job.
When I had first joined I only had my GCSEs and BTEC Diploma. Since joining I’ve achieved my Level 3 Unified Comms Technician and am working towards my CompTIA Network+ qualification.
PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access)
EUSR (Energy and Utility Skills Register)
Confined Space Training
Splicing and blowing of fibre
All the above we do inhouse.
No better time to join than now.
