UKTIN Talent Advisory Group

The UK Telecoms Innovation Network (UKTIN) Talent Advisory Group exists to address market failures and ensure the sector has access to the talent and skills critical to the success of telecoms innovation.

A national forum, the group provides a platform for collaboration and action among the individuals and organisations working in the fields of telecoms, employment and training.

It facilitates the exchange of information and expertise; fosters the creation of career opportunities in the sector; provides information on training and development opportunities for aspiring individuals; and facilitates and supports activity to rapidly address skills shortages and gaps.

Would you like to make a difference and join the UKTIN Talent Advisory Group?

Please get in touch through enquiries@uktin.net, we’re keen to grow the group.

Our UKTIN Talent Advisory Group brings together key figures from across the UK to raise awareness of the skills, talent and entrepreneurship opportunities and challenges the sector faces, facilitate collective problem solving and act as a guiding mind for the industry, for the benefit of all.

OUR APPROACH

Did you know that 60% of engineers are over 50, only 5% are under 35 and just 3% are female? With an aging workforce, there's plenty of work to be done.

We take a two pillar approach, designed to address both the here and now, as well as the future.

Here & Now

We take a demand-led approach to address current shortages and attract talent into the sector. This includes tactics such as:

- Sharing the 'Top 10 in Demand' roles

- Attending job fairs

- Supporting ex-forces, who are highly skilled and able to retrain

- Facilitating an ambassador programme to provide a real sense of what working in our sector can mean

Future

We aim to fill the funnel for future employment opportunities by developing talent. This includes tactics such as:

- Education initiatives

- Career fairs

- Career advisors

- Talent ambassadors
