Building on the platform of success created by Worcestershire 5G, nexGworx provides a ‘Testbed as a Service’ to those interested in testing and trialling products and services over 5G
We seek to help UK advanced manufacturing industry and other sectors to harness the benefits of 5G connectivity and secure applications through smart factories, automated operations and productivity improvements.
Our mission is to support Worcestershire’s vision for a connected county and improved economy by building on the experiences of the Worcestershire 5G project, driving 5G adoption at local, regional, national and international level.
Our vision is to become the testbed of choice to support 5G deployment for Industry 4.0 advanced manufacturing applications in the UK.
nexGworx was incorporated in Spring 2021 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Malvern Hills Science Park. nexGworx is born out of the Worcestershire 5G Testbed and Trials project and is backed by its strategic technology partner BT plc.

Testbed as a Service (TaaS). W5G offers a packaged 5G testbed solution compliant with 5G standards, comprising the following:

* Multi Access Edge Computing (MEC) solution
* ‘Security by Design’ wrap, with alongside secure testbed/RF testing option
* Outdoor 5G and 4G macro and integrated indoor lab facilities
* Innovation programme supporting small and micro innovators
* Carrier grade interconnection between sites
* Enterprise Tier-1 ISP peered cloud connection from MHSP
* Integration with BT/EE Mobile Labs.

Track record
In 2018 Worcestershire was chosen by Government as the home of a new 5G Testbed, putting the county at the forefront of technological innovation. Worcestershire was one of six 5GTT projects led by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), universities and local authorities that represent the best of UK innovation, resources and expertise.
5G technology has subsequently been tested within several business led applications, the focus has been on manufacturing and how 5G technology can improve productivity. The Worcestershire 5G testbed was able to demonstrate 5G within manufacturing factories in the first UK ever 5G smart factory trials held with consortium partners Worcester Bosch and Yamazaki Mazak. "Security by Design" use cases were overlaid by our security partner QinetiQ.

nexGworx is open to discussion with potential partners of all sizes, leveraging its extensive experience as Lead Partner, collaboration partner and sub-contractor of services.
nexGworx is moving W5G on to its next phase as a sustainable operation, and is keen to offer testbed as a service and related professional services, supported by its key technology partners.
