Chris Jones

Dr Chris Jones is the Ecosystem Director for Integrated Infrastructure at Connected Places Catapult. He works with the market to identify and reduce infrastructure barriers associated with the development of successful connected places. This tends to include working across sectors including telecommunications, intelligent roads, energy and water drawing in infrastructure owners and operators, solution providers, government and industry bodies to work on common challenges.

Before joining Connecting Places Catapult in 2022, his career bridged the academic, corporate and public sectors with significant roles at University of Oxford and Imperial College London, having previously led university engagement and technology scouting programmes for BlackBerry UK Limited. He started his career with UK Research & Innovation (EPSRC) with a variety of roles focused on on research, innovation, strategy and skills development. Chris has diverse technology and sector interests spanning infrastructure, ICT, chemicals and materials and is driven to build partnerships that support discovery, new product innovation and impact more generally.

Chris of a member of the UKTIN adoption working group for Transport & logistics, a member of the Transport Research & Innovation Board's Infrastructure Working Group, and an Advisory Board Member of the Freight Innovation Cluster.
