Anasol Peña-Rios

Anasol is a Distinguished Engineer and Research Manager at BT Group. She provides strategic insights and leads research efforts towards enabling digital twins, AI and immersive technologies in the context of BT's network and field force operations. She has published extensively and produced multiple patents on these topics. She has 15+ years of experience leading international multidisciplinary projects and teams in industry and academia.

She is passionate about human-centred technology and how it will shape our future. She received the TechWomen100 2020 Awards and was shortlisted for the Computing Women in IT Excellence Awards 2018. She is a supporter of women in tech, encouraging young women to pursue studies in STEM-related subjects.

Anasol is a Visiting Fellow at the University of Essex, where she holds a PhD in Computer Science. She is an IEEE Senior Member and Associate Editor in related peer-reviewed journals. She sits in the Advisory Group of the Digital Twin Hub initiative. She is also a Board Member of two non-profits: the Immersive Learning Research Network and the Creative Science Foundation.
