Hamid Falaki

Dr Hamid Falaki currently works as telecom sector Specialist Adviser to UK Telecoms Innovation Network, from University of Bristol, providing Secretarial support to the AI and Security Expert Working Groups.

His previous roles involved working as a telecommunications consultant at the Smart Internet Lab, providing technical services for coordination, delivery, operation, maintenance, and expansion of the 5GUK Testbed at University of Bristol. This service provided a test network as an experimentation facility for research projects under Smart Internet Lab. He has 20+ years’ experience in the telecoms technology sector, and prior to that 10+ years from the energy sector.

His Current interest is creation of new business opportunities through niche communication services, network architecture, measurements and monitoring and its management. Hamid is an adviser and consultant in Wireless Communications with more than 20+ years’ experience in the telecoms technology sector, and prior to that 10+ years from the energy sector. As a qualified professional, attained Chartered Engineering status by becoming a member of Institute of Mechanical Engineers in early career and later became a member of Institution of Engineering and Technology. As a solution architect he has supported businesses through consultancy, technical and business strategies, as well as research and development within telecommunications. His achievements have been around finding the industrial challenges and opportunities where innovators can add value with their evolutionary or disruptive technologies that can transform the marketplace. His Current interest is the creation of new business opportunities through niche communication services, network measurements and monitoring and its management with focus around open source 5G RAN & Core network solutions.
