Iain McKechnie

Iain is the Director of Strategic Programmes at the Advanced Services Group (ASG) and Project Director for a number of business support projects helping manufacturers to improve their revenues, and to increase their margins, by adopting advanced services. This is increasing impacted upon by the use of sensors and digital services. Iain is interested in setting up a Demonstrator Centre in the West Midlands - where manufacturing and technology-innovating firms can access the latest research in advanced services, the business and revenue models required to create and harvest value, and to help firms to capture the story in a digital context.

Iain is the Director of Strategic Programmes at the Advanced Services Group (ASG) and Project Director for a number of business support projects helping manufacturers to improve their revenues, and to increase their margins, by adopting advanced services. Iain has worked with 150+ manufacturers in the last 6-years and, through the direct utilisation of the latest ASG research into servitization, he has helped the firms to improve their Gross Value Add (GVA) by some £31.8m.

Iain is Chair of the TRAN-SIP Advisory Board (working with technology-innovating firms to adopt advanced services), Deputy Chair of the Digitally Enhanced Advanced Services Advisory Board (EPSRC-funded project), a member of the Newton-China project entitled 'Next Generation Rice Prosessing' (on business models, revenue models and contract models), a member of the Through-Life Engineering Services Council (TES) and proud to be recognised, for his early career in engineering, as a ‘Freeman Citizen of Glasgow’.
