Matthew Higgins

Dr Matthew Higgins (Reader) at WMG, University of Warwick, is part of a team that has become a peer-recognised leading player for applied 5G in the Automotive and the Advanced Manufacturing Sectors in the UK. Utilising significant breadth and depth of practitioner experience, working in small teams that combine the right mix of practitioner and academic skills and experience, we enable fundamental theory to reach the real world in an immediately usable manner. The team is underpinned by exceptional facilities funded the High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult which includes WMG’s 5G core and periphery equipment, enabling the test and development of all aspects of future wireless communications. The vision of the group is to allow our partners to access a configurable combination of real and synthetic environments and systems to enable testing, prediction, and analysis of devices, subsystems and the emergent behaviours of systems-of-systems in a way that is controllably repeatable. Such capability has been applied to a number of projects funded through EPSRC, Innovate UK, the HVM Catapult and direct from Industry.
