Birmingham Tech Week is the UK’s largest regional tech festival and conference with over 7,500 people attending. Events will be taking place across the entire West Midlands covering a variety of important and innovative topics.

The telecom industry’s end-of-year wrap-up returns to London on Thursday 5 December, for a day of boisterous discussion and debate on the big issues and topics that are shaping the future of telecoms.

There were 1.56 billion fixed broadband subscriptions in the world as of the end of the third quarter of last year, with growth driven by increased fibre uptake, particularly in some key markets.

Some of the UK's smaller fibre altnets might be feeling the pinch at the moment, but CityFibre isn't one of them.

The wholesaler has published a set of full-year numbers that are no doubt the envy of many of its more financially-strained rivals.

G.Network has reportedly been sold to a distressed debt specialist, having failed in a years-long effort to secure an industry buyer.

The move comes amidst much discussion of the state of play for UK fibre builders, many of whom are struggling due to rising build costs and interest rates, while simultaneously competing for customers.
