Project Summary

Our vision for the ultimate Network of Networks (NoN) is to create a secure, self-configurable, self-optimising, self-healing, net-zero, and resilient system. To achieve this, we will focus on the following key objectives:

  • Intelligent Control: Establish advanced control mechanisms across all physical layer segments, driving the development of the NoN.
  • Research Innovation: Identify and tackle emerging challenges in traditional communication fields.
  • Collaborative Development: Build strong partnerships to co-create cutting-edge communication technologies.
  • Strategic Engagement: Collaborate with companion platforms and the Joint Open Infrastructure for Networks Research (JOINER) initiative.
  • Leadership Cultivation: Support early career researchers and nurture the next generation of research leaders.
  • Global Impact: Generate significant and timely contributions to the evolution of 6G networks, focusing on UK leadership.
  • IP Development: Ensure the creation and protection of a valuable pipeline of new intellectual property.
  • Standards Contribution: Actively participate in shaping technical standards.

TITAN is a key component of the Federated Telecoms Hub, alongside HASC and CHEDDAR, each of which has been allocated £1.33 million as part of a £4 million initiative. These funds aim to expand the scope of our research, showcase 6G trials and experiments, and foster collaborative efforts among Hub members and new partners across the UK.
