Hi, I’m Peter Kibutu. I lead the 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks activities at TTP, a product and technology consultancy working at the intersection of science and engineering across wireless communications, healthcare, life science, clean tech and so much more.

Building on the UK’s regional and national strengths, UKTIN’s Clusters Group provides an open forum for inter-regional collaboration, sharing best practices, insights and dissemination of learnings. Its overarching aim is to advance the adoption of advanced connectivity and has been designed to ensure all regions and nations of the UK can benefit equally. 

In the Autumn Statement 2023, the government announced funding for a series of regulatory sandboxes. As part of this announcement, the government outlined investment to support research into enhanced spectrum sharing in the UK. 

UKTIN sat down with Raj Sivalingam, Head of Spectrum Policy in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology to hear more about the new spectrum sandbox programme.

Can you tell us a bit more about what has been announced today?

The UK Telecoms Innovation Network (UKTIN) Non-Terrestrial Networking Expert Working Group focuses on a range of non-terrestrial network architectures and applications.
