Market Revenue Declined 33 Percent Year-over-Year in Quarter

According to a recently published report by Dell’Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the telecommunications, security, networks, and data center industries, spending on Service Provider Routers declined sharply in the second quarter of 2024, resulting in a 33 percent year-over-year decline in router equipment revenue.

AMD acquires ZT Systems in deal to enhance data centre AI capabilities

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) has announced a landmark agreement to acquire ZT Systems, a provider of AI and compute infrastructure for hyperscalers, in a deal valued at £4.9 billion.

The acquisition will bolster AMD’s capabilities in data centre AI systems, and position the company to more effectively compete in the expanding market for AI accelerators.

The European Commission has approved, under EU State aid rules, a €5 billion German measure to support European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (‘ESMC') in the construction and operation of a microchip manufacturing plant in Dresden. ESMC is a joint venture between Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (‘TSMC'), Bosch, Infineon, and NXP.
