At the recent DCIA Dissemination Event, Gareth Elliot, Mobile UK hosted a panel with representatives from all four of the UK’s mobile network operators, testament to their commitment and willingness to forge successful partnerships with local authorities.

During this second DCIA dissemination event, attendees were able to hear updates from all eight of the digital asset management pilots, with clear progress having been made on all sides since the last event in June.

Whereas the June event had focused primarily on the digital asset management pilots, this time round, attendees were able to also hear more about the remit - and significant progress - being made across the other three workstreams.

The third DCIA dissemination event took place in December and, following September’s virtual event, was back in the real world. GSMA’s London office, with its stunning views over Kings Cross, London, was the venue for the hundred or so attendees from across local government and industry attending the event.

Sharing learnings from the DCIA pilots' progress and driving collaboration

On the last day of June, the first in-person dissemination event for the DCIA project was held in Bristol.

MEC is an idea for network architectures that brings what are normally described as cloud computing services to the “edge” of a mobile network – generally at the base station, or at a point of aggregation of several base stations.
