Wireless networking is experiencing a period of exciting change with the development of new generations - from 5G to 6G, WiFi 6 and 7 - offering new use cases and business cases. To build on the UK’s already formidable strengths in this domain and identify important emerging challenges and opportunities, the UK Telecoms Innovation Network (UKTIN) has brought together a group of voluntary experts to consider key evolutions of wireless systems across telecoms and address a range of key issues and questions.
On Thursday, 16th November 2023 the UKTIN Wireless Networking Expert Working Group is hosting an open roundtable discussion to share its tentative findings and invite feedback and suggestions to ensure its work is addressing the most pressing challenges and opportunities to push the UK forward.
Join the team to discuss the strengths and challenges to be mitigated to help restore UK wireless technology capability and to reconnect a vibrant and internationally-connected wireless telecoms ecosystem, with deep dives into topics such as:
- Market and international dynamics, economics and alliances
- Research and innovation
- Standards and IP
- Policy and Regulation
- Skills
- Semiconductor / baseband issues
- RF and optical issues
The roundtable will take place at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge in London, from 9am-12pm, for specialists and thought leaders to workshop and inform the Group’s findings ahead of research publication.
