Ericsson and UK Connect have teamed up to provide upgraded connectivity solutions to Surrey Search and Rescue, who were previously often relying on paper maps.
Surrey SAR is a voluntary blue light team tasked with search and rescue operations for high-risk missing persons across Surrey and the UK. Apparently more than 2,000 people go missing in Surrey each year, and the team needed a “robust connectivity solution” to help them do their jobs in any weather condition and anywhere in the county.
Ericsson has provided hybrid WAN connectivity solutions through UK Connect’s SARNET (Search & Rescue Network), which they say helps improve response times and survival outcomes.
