Hello, I’m Andrews King, the founder of Softonets, an end-to-end technology solutions provider. I am also a member of the UKTIN Core Networking Expert Working Group.
Empowering businesses and individuals lies at the centre of my work. My company provides strategies for industry telecom verticals, including MNOs and CSPs and every industry that uses technology, ensuring the sector makes the most of current and emerging networking technologies. We offer advice on business & technology process re-engineering, network & cloud infrastructure audit and smart city transformation.
Softonets is also developing its own cutting-edge technology. Harnessing the power of wireless and softwarised networking technologies, we have several innovations in the pipeline. The aim is to solve the industry’s various challenges, moving away from traditional to next-generation communications infrastructure. At Softonets, we believe that technology infrastructure in the current landscape is a resource and a strategy for digital transformation.
Cloud-oriented and softwarised networking solutions can be leveraged to unify digital infrastructure to deliver leading-edge innovations that enable consistent connectivity. However, we must leverage their capabilities better and facilitate agile relationships between services and solutions providers. Only then will we achieve a seamless, user-oriented application experience.
What do you enjoy most about working in this space?
The challenge of creating something new that makes the world a better place for future generations. Without that, where is the value of the business?
What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve done in the name of work?
Within six weeks of joining a former company, I created a game-changing technology that provides better capability and application experience. Very ridiculous indeed.
What excites you most about working in telecoms?
Creating something that will significantly improve society and people’s everyday lives for this generation and the next. Over the last decade, the industry has advanced to more flexible, user-oriented technologies.
What would you like people to know about your work?
We are developing a leading-edge technology that creates a unique strategy for ubiquitous networking. I believe that the lifecycle of technologies in telecoms today is infinite as they can be constantly redefined and re-engineered, the bedrock of innovation. The vision is to create a balance in everything I can contribute to society and the world.
Why is a vibrant, flourishing telecoms ecosystem important for the UK?
To demonstrate strategic leadership in the sector, economic growth and security. It’s fair to say the UK is a leader in telecoms research and innovation. However, making this better known on the world stage is imperative.
