More data used than ever before, as the UK’s most comprehensive broadband data shows an 9% jump compared to 2022

Broadband use across the UK increased by 9 per cent last year, according to Openreach.

In the Autumn Statement 2023, the government announced funding for a series of regulatory sandboxes. As part of this announcement, the government outlined investment to support research into enhanced spectrum sharing in the UK. 

The UK Telecoms Innovation Network (UKTIN) Non-Terrestrial Networking Expert Working Group focuses on a range of non-terrestrial network architectures and applications.

The firms have signed a non-binding letter of intent for a potential business combination. The subsequent combined company would operate as Lynk Global, and its common stock and warrants are expected to be listed on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ‘LYNK’.   

A record 17 million UK homes have access to full-fibre broadband, with 4.6 million now taking it up, according to Ofcom’s latest Connected Nations report. 

After demonstrating 100 Gbps optical links between its prototype satellites, Project Kuiper will include laser links on every satellite in its constellation to form a mesh network in space.
