Hello – I’m Sideqe Askre, an Engineering Technician at the University of Sheffield’s School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I am responsible for seven communication labs, equipment maintenance, training and inductions, health and safety paperwork and internal and external customers. 

As the Future Network Programmes conclude, UKTIN is working with DSIT to reflect on the government-funded projects, outlining the key outcomes and the lessons learned to help improve future telecoms initiatives. 

To ensure that SMEs have a front-row seat to telecoms standards making, our Standards Champion, Andy Reid, attends key standards meetings to observe, participate in conversations and report back on key themes and discussion points.

UK mobile operator Three has selected Ericsson to build it a new cloud-native core network – replacing Nokia who has been doing the job since 2019.

• Ericsson, in collaboration with IBM, is set to deliver a new network to transform frontline emergency services in Great Britain
