This the first public event for Disruptive Analysis' new Indoor Wireless project.
Session objectives: participants will acquire a more nuanced understanding of the future indoor wireless opportunity, stakeholder needs and objectives, technological and market forces, and what to do about them. It will be a unique opportunity to discuss important issues first-hand and in a secure yet open environment.

This is part of a program of workshops, published articles & papers and other outreach activities to increase awareness and understanding of all types of indoor wireless connectivity: public cellular, Wi-Fi, private 4G/5G networks, IoT, public safety and more.

The indoor landscape is very broad. It covers homes, offices, public venues, industrial settings and transportation. Applications from industrial automation to gaming, or from healthcare to retail systems are predominantly done indoors.

The indoor landscape is very broad. It covers homes, offices, public venues, industrial settings and transportation. Applications from industrial automation to gaming, or from healthcare to retail systems are predominantly done indoors.

It's an area that's hugely important, but often overlooked by governments, telcos and other stakeholders such as vendors, property companies, investors and enterprises. The initiative aims to foster understanding and cooperation between (sometimes confrontational) groups representing different technologies, industry roles and business models.

This workshop will not be a PPT-led conference or seminar, but a true interactive session, with a maximum of 30 attendees and a lot of time for networking, group discussion and collaboration. It will not be a "lean back" event, and attendees are encouraged to be present for the whole day.

The workshop includes two group breakout discussion sections, covering multiple technology & business models, and then stakeholder requirements & perspectives.

Outputs will help shape future work on action and policy efforts that reflect the 80%+ of wireless value generated indoors. One aim is to discuss whether the initiative deserves its own Forum or Association, or whether the process is best fitted within existing industry groups. It will also consider whether current or future funding should be directed towards in-building network infrastructure.

Experienced presenters and facilitators

The workshop will be led by Dean Bubley, a well known analyst and commentator on wireless technologies, policy and business models. He has previously run numerous public and private workshops on Neutral Host networks, Private 4G/5G, Wi-Fi Offload and is the author of countless reports and articles on related topics. He has recently chaired Indoor Wireless panel sessions at events such as FYUZ and 5G Techritory, as well as speaking at WBA's Wireless Global Congress, WIA's Connect(X), Wi-Fi Now and many more.

The interactive sessions will be facilitated by Andrew Collinson of Connective Insight, formerly head of research at STL Partners. Andrew and Dean have collaborated for over 10 years.

The workshop will be held under the Chatham House rule and not recorded, so specific comments cannot be attributed to individuals or companies.

If you can't make it to London for January 11th, then there will be similar exercises elsewhere later next year. And if you'd like a private or customised session covering similar, please get in touch directly.
