Tech leaders say high rates of security breaches linked to insecure code

Some research by SecureFlag, a firm which specialises in secure coding training, claims senior technology leaders have reported high rates of security breaches linked to insecure code.

SecureFlag surveyed 100 UK C-suite execs and tech leaders, and 67% of them admitted their organisation experienced at least one cybersecurity breach or serious incident in the past 12 months due to insecure coding practices – and nearly half of those said they faced multiple incidents of that type.

It also found that 40% of organisations don’t mandate regular secure coding training for their developers, which it says is “highlights a disconnect between awareness and action.”
