Equipment makers that want to stand out to potential telco customers need to tap into their efficiency drives and also offer a path to monetisation.

So claims a new report from The Hoffman Agency, which surveyed senior decision-makers at telcos in more than a dozen major global markets to find out what their investment priorities are and how they go about selecting their vendor partners.

"The message from operators is clear: vendors must position their solutions as ROI accelerators, not additional CAPEX burdens. Technologies that enhance the value of existing network programs, particularly those tied to automation, energy efficiency, or AI enablement, are more likely to resonate than those that compete for CAPEX," the report states.
