A three year research project, called VICTOR6G, is being led by Ericsson and will look into real-time virtualisation in industrial 6G networks.
The project has a budget of €5.4 million (€4.3 million of which is publicly funded) and a number of industrial firms and research institutions working on it. The research will focus on future 6G communication networks for industrial applications and integrating network and IT technology.
The goal is to come up with an integrated solution of wired and wireless networks that can operate things like robots controlled from the local cloud or inspection drones in the industrial metaverse with low latency.
