O2 Satellite goes live at £3 per month

Virgin Media O2 has launched O2 Satellite, extending mobile coverage for customers willing to pay £3 per month for the privilege.

Working with Starlink, the operator becomes the first in Europe to offer a satellite-based direct-to-device service that also includes some data.

That's an important caveat: other European mobile operators got there first with direct-to-device late last year – Kyivstar launched with Starlink and Orange teamed up with Skylo – but O2 is the first to offer more than just messaging.
