Telenor Group has officially launched its AI factory, designed to help businesses accelerate AI-powered transformation across various industries. As part of the initiative, Telenor announced an initial 100 million NOK investment in February to build an AI factory using NVIDIA’s full-stack AI computing platform. Telenor’s AI factory aims to enhance AI adoption for both internal operations and external customers, as well as provide local AI computing capabilities to the Nordic region. Hive Autonomy, a leading Norwegian company specialising in autonomous technology, becomes the first customer of the AI factory, marking an important milestone in Telenor’s new AI-focused venture.

“We are honoured to be Telenor’s first customer to use their AI factory, powered by NVIDIA AI software and infrastructure,” said Christoffer Jørgenvåg, CEO of Hive Autonomy. “The opportunity to collaborate with Telenor is a major milestone for Hive Autonomy. This partnership will drive significant advancements in our autonomous solutions, allowing us to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability in new ways.”

Telenor’s AI factory marks Telenor’s ambitions in creating new opportunities with a strong focus on security, sustainability and innovation. It enhances customer solutions across industries, enabling businesses to harness Telenor’s robust infrastructure and access NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs and the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform. With the resources of the AI factory, companies like Hive Autonomy can develop solutions locally in the region to help other companies optimise operations, reduce costs, and enhance safety through data-driven, AI-powered solutions.
