With less than three weeks to go until the ONE competition closes, here’s a reminder of the key dates for your diary. Plus, keep reading to hear how DSIT has acted on your feedback and reduced grant funding processes.
Milestones and deadlines:
Competition opens: 14 March 2023
Clarification questions receipt deadline EXTENDED: 17 May 2023 (previously 9 May)
Competition closes: 11:59pm 23 May 2023
Successful applicants notified: Late June 2023
Target project start: September 2023
Projects end: 31 March 2025
DSIT has extended the clarification question deadline to 17 May and will guarantee a response by 19 May if your questions are asked on time. Any questions asked after this, may not get a response before the deadline.

Acting on your feedback to improve DSIT processes
You told us: “It takes too long to complete DSIT’s grant funding agreement. DSIT asks too many time consuming questions which delay setup”
And we’ve listened: “We’ve refreshed our approach to getting to GFA for ONE funded projects by streamlining over 60% of commercial, delivery and finance requirements in the GFA. Examples include an updated forecasting process and less detailed milestone achievement criteria to make agreeing the Annex 5 (Milestones, Deliverables, Claim Schedule) easier.”
These changes will make it simpler for projects to agree terms with DSIT and ensure work can start work by September 2023.
