Have your say! short survey on UK Government support for Future Telecoms
This survey is being carried out by UKTIN on behalf of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).
The aim is to quickly assess the demand from within the UK telecom ecosystem for a possible competition providing funding to support the further development of telecoms capabilities within the UK.
DSIT is considering establishing dedicated grant pots targeting specific telecoms technologies. This would aim to achieve higher application success-rates for telecoms companies compared to broader scope R&D support schemes and increase commercial impact from innovation in the sector. Participants will be encouraged to collaborate with industry partners, research institutions, and relevant stakeholders to leverage collective expertise and resources.
Four areas of focus have been identified :
1. Network of Network Solutions
2. Terabit Optical Solutions
3. Next Generation Wireless Solutions
4. Telco Cloud Solutions
